New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications from senior scholars – at the rank of associate and full professors - and exceptional early career scholars to join its program in Social Research and Public Policy (SRPP). The university will consider applicants with active and cutting-edge research agendas in all areas of theoretically informed social research, but will pay special attention to scholars with interests in the sociology of development, the Global South, as well as in race and/or gender. Candidates are expected to be outstanding scholars with exceptional productivity in their fields, and to act as inspirational teachers and mentors to undergraduate students. Successful candidates are expected to begin their appointment September 1, 2019, subject to final budgetary approval. Applications from scholars with backgrounds and experiences different to those represented in the program and/or women are especially encouraged.
